Hopes JourneyThe Retreat was once the private home of Kerry Lund, whose greatest wish was that the house that he built and loved would live on after him.
The Cabin of Hope Kerry Lund died in 2008 from a rare Lung condition. David Schmidt, a long-time friend was appointed the estate’s personal representative. When next door neighbor, Lori Sandvig, contacted David, it was immediately clear to both of them that they wanted to create a warm and welcoming Christian-based retreat for people who have been challenged by the emotional and physical effects of cancer as well as other chronic illnesses. “For years, I’ve watched people who are normally city dwellers come here and get transformed by the healing power of nature. Nature can be a source of solace, healing, insight and regeneration.” said Lori. In 2009, the property was acquired by Hopes Journey Retreat and Wellness Center. Hopes Journey is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. PRIVACY NOTICE
